I obtained my B.A in Anthropology from the University of Nairobi, Kenya and I have a MSc in Archaeology from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. Currently I am pursuing my PhD in Tarragona, Spain based at the Universitat Rovira I Virgili and affiliated with the Institut Català de Paleoecologia Humana i Evolució Social (IPHES-CERCA). I have previously worked in sites such as Koobi Fora in Kenya as well as Gondolin and Klasies River Site in South Africa. She is currently busy with her Masters in Archaeology with specialisation in comparative animal skeletal anatomy. Karin began her career in 1995 at the then Transvaal Museum (now Ditsong National Museum of Natural History) as the collections manager in the department of Archaeozoology. She was appointed the Transvaal Museums Public Communications Co-ordinator in 2000 and from there expanded her PR and marketing roll for all the eight national museums in the north of the country. During this time Karin represented the Northern Flagship (now Ditsong National Museums of the North) on ministerial and mayoral advisory committees, tourism forums and external and internal exhibitions and shows. From that year, he has been specializing in Maritime and Underwater archaeology, and participated in different levels of trainings in Biscayne National Park-USA, in Mombasa-Kenya and Cape Town-South Africa in underwater archaeology. These trainings allowed him to join the Department of Archaeology and Anthropology at Eduardo Mondlane University, where he is based now. ⁠Cezar has been involved in some projects as the Slave wrecks project, researching the history of slave trade in Mozambique and worldwide from the shipwreck perspective. The Ambassadors’ Grant which is monitoring endangered shipwreck at Mozambique Island and raising public awareness about the importance of Maritime and Underwater Heritage. The Digital Innovation in Public Access to Mozambican Maritime Heritage to produce materials for the visualization of submerged heritage.
